Williams Trading Donates to Local Animal Shelter

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — During the month of December, the management and staff of Williams Trading collected donations for the Almost Home Animal Shelter in Pennsauken.

Mike, a pit bull rescued from an inner city dog fighting ring and resident of the non-kill shelter was on hand to collect the donations, the company says.

The Almost Home Animal Shelter is an animal welfare organization established to support animal care and control for local municipalities, as well as promoting the human/companion animal bond. They are dedicated to creating programs and services which educate the public regarding compassion, responsibility and respect toward all animals through advocacy, spay/neutering and adoption.

“Almost Home is located across the street from Williams Trading,” says Erin V., marketing & vendor liaison. “Everyday their volunteers walk the dogs through our parking lot rain or shine. We invited them to Williams to educate us about their program and to see if we could help. After learning about the extensive needs of a non-kill shelter, we created the Paw Prints On Your Heart Holiday Drive and the donations began pouring in.”

As part of the holiday season, Screaming O sent each William's office employee a dice game with a card that included money to play the game. The company said that nearly everyone who received a Screaming O gift immediately donated the cash to Almost Home.

Funds collected from Williams’ employees were generously matched 100 percent by Williams Trading Company to purchase food, cleaning supplies, collars, leashes and toys.

“Thank you Williams Trading for taking notice of our animals and helping Almost Home,” says Amy C., Almost Home’s representative. “We’re thankful for dedicated supporters like you that help us keep our doors open and our animals safe and healthy until they find their forever home.”

“Williams Trading makes a donation to the American Heart Association and the Susan Komen Foundation each year on behalf of our industry partners,” says Robert Pyne, President and CEO. “ It’s our pleasure to add the Almost Home Animal Shelter to our annual holiday giving."
